2023 Chevy Corvette Z06 VIN 001 – Although it was expected that the car would sell for more than a million dollars at auction, the first production 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 70th anniversary Edition sold for $3.6million at the Barrett-Jackson auction held in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is the record of an auction company for auctioning a car for charity. It beats the $3 million first mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette Stingray sold in 2020 for the Detroit Children’s Fund. It was interesting that the winning bidder for both Vettes was Rick Hendrick, owner of NASCAR.
Although cars are a popular choice, they do attract a lot of attention. But VIN #1 from the production line sold at over three times the expected value. This is because Operation Homefront will receive 100 percent of the proceeds. It’s a national non-profit organization that “builds strong, stable and secure military families so that they can thrive within the communities they have worked hard for.”

Josh Holder, the Corvette chief engineer, said that parts from the 670-hp 5.5 liters LT6 V-8 engines could be used in a race car. This is not surprising considering that this V-8 engine produces the most horsepower ever produced in a production car. The new Z06 will be produced this summer. It will cost approximately $90,000. It’s evident that this auction was about charity as much as the car.
