2023 Ford Bronco Sports Badlands Review, Pricing, and Specs

2023 Ford Bronco Sports Badlands – The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands will soon be available on the market. This trim level is impressive for many reasons. Bronco Sport was based on Ford Escape’s chassis. It was designed for off-road adventure. Each model is equipped with a four-wheel drive and comes in four trim levels: Base (Big Bend), Outer Banks (Outer Banks), and Badlands (Badlands). Terrain Management System is available from the brand. It has seven modes that can be used to deal with different driving conditions.

Badlands has a dual-clutch rear-drive system that allows the rear differential of the Badlands trims to be “locked” to increase traction. All variants except the Badlands are powered by a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. Badlands will feature a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with SelectShift transmission.

Engine

All trims use a 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine. The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. It also features an eight-speed automatic transmission with SelectShift, paddle shifters, and 8-speed manual transmission. This engine produces 250 horsepower and 277 lb. ft. of torque. Badlands boasts the highest-in-class performance numbers. Bronco Sport Badlands can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 5.9 seconds. The SUV has 26 mpg.

Exterior

The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands is a replica of the original Broncos, which were built in the 60s and 70s. The brand’s C2 front-wheel-drive architecture is the basis of the Sport variant. It also underlies Escape. Bronco Sport is able to compete with Cherokee and Jeep Compass models thanks to this. The Badlands’ 8.8-inch ground clearance is slightly higher than the Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. The Badlands has a slightly better approach angle than the Jeep. However, the Cherokee’s break-over and departure angles are somewhat superior to the Badlands.

Skid plates are included for the fuel tank and motor, and an off-road cruise control system that can reach speeds of up to 20 mph. There are also Badlands front tow hooks and 28.5-inch all-terrain tires. While Pirelli Scorpio A/Ts come standard, we recommend Falken WildPeaks tires. The Sport’s wheelbase is 1.6 inches shorter than the Escape’s, which gives it a more stocky stance and increases its break-over angle.

Interior

The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands has leather upholstery and contrast stitching. There are many black plastic materials available, each with its own unique feel but all seem to be of excellent quality. The standard Bronco Sport has an eight-way power-adjustable driver seat. There is also good legroom. The Bronco Sport’s front seats are comfortable and supportive, with ample headroom. Tech-wise, the standard model comes with a touchscreen infotainment touchscreen of 8.0 inches. This unit is compatible with Ford’s Sync 3 software. Blue Oval may soon offer Sync 4 technology. Optional features include Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist, Class II trailer tow package, and Ford’s Co-Pilot360 Assist. Badlands also offers a standard power sunroof and six-way power-adjustable passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, and a Bang & Olufsen 10 speaker sound system.
