2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 – Hyundai continues to expand its Ioniq EV lineup and we’ve recently seen a concept of the forthcoming Ioniq 6 sedan testing ahead of the launch planned for later in the year. It’s the Ioniq 6 features a low-slung and sleek design, which is in stark contrast to the compact Ioniq 5 and the upcoming Ioniq 7 three-row SUV and is likely to be competitive against that of the Tesla Model 3 when it is available within the U.S. within the next one or two years.
2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Concept
Although the design of the Ioniq 6 is influenced by its Prophecy concept Hyundai presented back in the year 2020. The final version is more upright as opposed to the more angular model. We can still see through the camouflage, the front and rear lights look like they’re futuristic. The smooth and rounded greenhouse, as well as the rounded bodyside, give it a smaller and more refined look as compared to the 1980s-inspired Ioniq 5, while the narrow front overhang, as well as the intriguing wheel design, give it a sporty posture.
We are expecting to see the Ioniq 6 use the same E-GMP system as Kia EV6 and the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 that is, it will provide identical powertrain setups. It is expected to be similar in its powertrain configuration. Ioniq 5 comes in single or dual-motor versions that range between 168 and 350 hp. It also comes with two different sizes of battery packs with 220 miles or 300 miles of EPA-rated range.
Interior
The spy photographer we spied on didn’t have any interior photos, however, we think that the Ioniq 6 will aim for an airy, lounge-like interior. It’s likely to be a five-seater that has an upholstered bench in the rear and appears to have a standard trunk, not the hatchback.
