Engine & Performance

The 2023 Sportage has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower. The electric motor is complemented by a 13.8 kWh lithium-polymer battery and a 66.9kW electrical motor. The standard equipment includes a 6-speed manual transmission with selectable drive modes and Downhill Brake Control. The charger’s 7.2 kW charging capacity is high-efficiency with a 1.53kW/l power density. A Level-2 charger can charge the Sportage PHEV in just two hours.
