2023 Kia Telluride Changes
Both new trims come with AWD specifically. The X-Line’s unique features include an 0.4-inch-higher ride, a brand new Tow mode, more beefy roof rails as well as a revamped grille, and 20-inch wheels that are specifically designed for trims. The X-Pro features a 110-volt outlet for storage, switches the 20-inch wheel with 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and comes with a towing capacity of 5500 pounds (up from 5500 pounds). Be aware, however, that the Telluride’s primary engine remains the same it’s the 3.8-liter V-6 that produces the 291 horses and 262 pounds-feet of torque. Hill-descent controls are a brand modern feature that is available on all Telluride trims with all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive.
A standard Highway Driving Assist (HDA) semi-autonomous adaptive cruise controls can be updated to HDA 2, which adds the ability to change lanes. The standard speed-limit recognition feature will automatically adjust the cruise control’s setting speed when the speed limit is changed. Forward collision avoidance is now also able to detect approaching traffic while making the left turn. It can also brake to prevent crossing traffic at an intersection, or slow down and then steer when it spots an approaching vehicle on the two-lane drive. It’s also in its ability to be alert for cyclists and pedestrians.
On the tech side is the new digital key feature that is only available with the iPhone, Samsung Galaxy Android, and Apple Watch. On the inside, the most significant change is the addition of an instrument cluster that is digital, that is merged with the larger informationtainment display (now 12.3 inches). The head-up display too is bigger and has the ability to display more details. It is good to know that Kia retains a large portion of its center stack which has buttons that can be used to control its climate system and to access the most important touchscreen functions. Additionally, there are knobs to control volume or tuning, as well as temperature, and an actual shift lever.
