2023 Maserati Grecale Electric – This is everything you need about the car before its March 2022 world premiere.
2023 Maserati Grecale Electric Review
Before we get into the gasoline variant, it’s worth noting that the Maserati Grecale Electric has been confirmed by Stellantis during its FY2021 presentation. According to Automotive News Europe’s February 17th, 2022 report, it will not be able to sit on a dedicated EV platform. There were speculations that the Grecale would wait to adopt one of the Stellantis STLA platforms. However, reports now suggest that the Grecale will be based on the Giorgio architecture. The Grecale was originally supposed to be introduced under the Levante in 2021. However, it has been delayed by the shortage of chips.
Maserati has chosen to reduce costs, considering that the Giorgio platform was developed at a cost of USD 1 billion. Maserati’s electric models of the GranTurismo, Ghibli, and Ghibli will be the mainstays of its EV journey. These sedans will be the first Maserati electric cars built on the new platform. Grecale EV will use the Giorgio platform, which was originally designed for gasoline cars.
The Grecale luxury midsize SUV is similar to the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. We know that the Grecale will be available in both petrol-hybrid and petrol-hybrid versions. The Grecale SUV is a beautiful, elegant SUV. It can be distinguished by its low height and sporty rearward-facing stance. It features headlights that are inspired by the MC20 supercar, a convex upper grille featuring vertical slats at the center, and the trademark three air vents at the bottom. A raked hatch can be seen at the rear, as well as a roof spoiler and quad exhaust tips. The sleek horizontal combination lamps are also visible, which, at least in their camouflaged form remind us of the Jaguar F-Pace or the Audi Q8.
Some interior details can be seen in an Instagram spy shot that user lorenzornm shared (view on Instagram). The Grecale has a flat-bottomed, three-spoke steering mechanism with two circular knobs and paddle shifters. It also features a bridge-type high console with glossy trim in a crisscross pattern. Assumed, the Maserati Grecale Electric would use the same basic design formula as the combustion model.
2023 Maserati Grecale Electric Release Date
The brand held an event on February 15, 2022, to increase anticipation about its SUV. They displayed a camouflaged test mule on Modena’s streets. The test mule’s livery reads: “Ciao, Maserati Grecale.” Maserati’s official communication says that the Grecale would be introduced on March 22, 2022.
The Maserati Grecale was made in Cassino in Italy. It should be available in the U.S. within a few months. It will be competing with the Porsche Macan, priced at approximately USD 55,000. The next-generation electric Maserati Grecale will compete with the Porsche Macan EV and Mercedes EQE SUVs, as well as the Audi Q6 e-Tron.
