2023 Subaru Ascent – Subaru introduced the Subaru Ascent, its first generation, in 2019, as a competitor in the midsize segment. Although the Ascent feels new, the 2020 model year will see the SUV get a refresh. Subaru has not confirmed any details. Subaru will also introduce a Wilderness trim to the 2023 Ascent.
2023 Subaru Ascent Redesign
The 2023 Subaru Ascent could get a redesign on the outside. We expect that the refreshed Ascent will have sharper headlights/taillights, more angular front/rear fascias, as well as more rugged touches. The new Wilderness trim, which is off-road-ready, will be available. It will feature knobby tires, wider fenders, unique front ends, special graphics, and burlier bumpers.
The interior of the Ascent will remain unchanged for 2023. The midsize SUV could be equipped with new materials and an interior designed for the Wilderness trim. However, the overall design of the Ascent is not expected to change. The interior design of the current SUV is focused on the infotainment system, which extends from the dashboard. Because of their locations, the center console contains multiple buttons and dials that can be confusing to use. The top of the dash has a small screen that displays the ambient temperature and the digital clock.
As standard equipment, the current Subaru Ascent includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto as well as six speakers, Bluetooth, four USB ports, satellite radio, and six audio speakers. The eight-inch touchscreen is also available. It includes a 14-speaker Harman Kardon stereo system, Wi-Fi hotspot, two rear USB ports, and navigation. These features will continue to be offered for the 2023 model year.
Subaru’s current Ascent is available with only one engine. The current Ascent comes with a turbocharged, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. It produces 260 horsepower and 277 pounds-feet of torque. All-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission are standard. This powertrain will continue to be available through 2023.
Each Ascent is equipped with the EyeSight suite, which includes advanced safety features. Forward collision warning, automatic braking, lane departure warnings, automatic high beam assist,lane-keeping assistance,lane-centering, and adaptive cruise control are all standard features. Reverse automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and front-view cameras are all available safety features.

The pricing of the 2023 Subaru Ascent is expected to remain the same as the current model, with a slight refresh. The Ascent currently ranges in price from $33,470 to $46,620 with a destination.
