2023 VW ID.3 Cabriolet – SRK Designs was likely inspired by the rag-top T-Roc and set out to tear the Volkswagen ID’s roof off. Although the electric hatchback would make its occupants look tanned, it would also turn heads. The ID.3 Cabriolet has a shortened roof. It retains the actual car’s length. For extra drama, there are now two longer doors. The trim on the front of the car was removed, the side mirror caps have a black finish and the entire car was digitally painted green. Although it would have been more fascinating to see the rear end design and the entire roof mechanism, this is where the rendering artist made the line.

Even though it might be less controversial than T-Roc Cabriolet’s, this writer believes that an open-top Volkswagen ID.3 wouldn’t make much sense. It would require additional reinforcement, which would make it heavier.
It wouldn’t be a viable development option, secondly, and perhaps most importantly, because there isn’t much demand for convertible hatchbacks regardless of whether they are powered by electricity or dead dinosaurs.

Third, even if Volkswagen approved it for production, would it make sense to you to ever consider purchasing it? It has the potential to start a new trend, even though some might not like it. We don’t need a new trend, other than the crossover one.
