2024 Range Rover Evoque EV – The Mk2 Range Rover Evoque arrived in late 2018 and, according to a new report by Autocar, it will be replaced in 2024. Jaguar Land Rover confirmed that the Range Rover Evoque Electric will be available for customers as part of its ‘Reimagine” global strategy.
2024 Range Rover Evoque EV Redesign
JLR is creating an electronic modular architecture (EMA) platform. This is a native battery electric vehicle or pure electric biased platform, which will also be able to support advanced electrified internal combustion engines. JLR announced that Discovery Sport and Evoque are two of the cars it intends to build on its new base at the 2021 Investor Day. The first model built on this platform will arrive in 2024, and it will, according to JLR, be the next-generation Evoque.
Flat floors will be used to maximize cabin space on the EMA platform. They also come with custom-designed electric drive units that provide a staggering 92% efficiency. They are capable of 800V and will also be the most torque-dense in their class. JLR has estimated their energy efficiency at 4-4.5 miles/kWh. This would be significantly higher than the I-Pace’s energy efficiency ratings. As per Europe’s WLTP, the Jaguar has an efficiency rating of 35.4-40.5 kWh/100 mi (2.4-2.8 miles/kWh in both EV320 variants).
2024 Range Rover Evoque EV Price & Release Date
According to the Autocar UK report, the next-gen Evoque and next-gen Discovery Sport will have higher entry prices. The current-gen Evoque’s base price is USD 43,300 in the USA and GBP 32.115 in the UK. The higher cost of the highly electrified platform will play a part in the price increase. According to the British publication, the base price for the 2024 Evoque will be close to USD 56 602 (GBP 40 000) in the UK. The higher price is intended to communicate the premium position of the Evoque over its German counterparts. However, it can only be justified by revolutionary changes. It promises to be the most spacious Evoque among the three generations due to its flat floor.
JLR intends to release six Land Rover BEVs in 2022-2026. JLR estimates that 60% of its sales will come from BEVs by 2030. The Range Rover Evoque is one of the top-selling Land Rovers. It was always planned to offer it with an electric powertrain. We won’t be surprised if the 2024 Range Rover Evoque becomes a BEV-only vehicle. This decision will depend on how fast electrification is taking place in the key markets for the model. The all-new Evoque range may include a range-extender model with a lean burn engine and pure electric versions if that is not possible. The Range Rover Evoque Electric could rival the BMW iX1, Volvo XC40 Recharge, and the Mercedes EQB.
