2024 Renault 4 Crossover – The Quatrelle was designed to take customers away from Citroen 2CV. It holds the title of the world’s first mass-produced hatchback.
2024 Renault 4 Crossover Redesign
The 4 is available in many body styles and features long-travel independent suspension. It was distinguished from the 2CV’s more agricultural version by water cooling and has a four-cylinder engine, as opposed to the Citroen two-pot air-cooled boxer. However, the original Renault 3 speed manual transmission was available for the Citroen 2CV 13-year-old Citroen 2CV. Colombians used the name amigo feel for it, meaning faithful friend. This nickname was derived from the 4’s reliability and robustness. The 4 was, like the Beetle in 1980s Colombia, pretty much obsolete when Renault began the initial development of the Twingo. The Quatrelle was phased out just as the Twingo began to take Europe by storm in 1994. It remains an industry staple and is a beloved car that many customers remember fondly. There had been rumors about the return of the 4, but Renault is now embracing zero-emission vehicles. The old-school econobox was revived with the all-electric 4ever crossover.
2024 Renault 4 Crossover Launched
The 4 is scheduled to be launched sometime in the 2024 calendar year, with underpinnings from 5 hatchbacks. This tease was made by chief executive Luca de Meo during a press conference in June 2021. Bernhard Reichel, a Photoshop artist, has taken inspiration from this image and imagined the series-production 4ever to be the smaller sibling of Megane E-Tech.
Renault estimates that 10 electric vehicles will be available by 2025. Seven of them will bear the French automaker’s badge. Three of the three remaining electric vehicles are likely to be from Alpine. Dacia already sells the Spring EV, made in China and with Renault underpinnings.
